SMUS Langer Named WAC Women's Tennis Player of the Month

DENVER SMU senior Jenny Langer has been named Octobers Western Athletic Conference womens tennis player of the month.

Langer, a Louisville, Ky., native is 8-4 this fall. Langer advanced to the semifinals at the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional in College Station, Texas. She ended the regional with a solid 4-1 record. She had a victory over No. 58 and WAC rival Blair DiSesa of Rice along the way. She is ranked No. 100 individually in fall ITA rankings.

OTHERS NOMINATED Fresno States Lucia Santz reached the doubles finals of the Saint Marys Invitational in early October with partner Courtney Jantz before the tournament was abandoned due to rain. She also reached the quarterfinals of singles at Saint Marys Boise States Carolina Pongratz played in two tournaments in October. Her overall record for October was 6-3 Rices Blair DiSesa went 4-3 during October. She played three top-65 players, going 1-2. As the eighth seed, advanced to the quarterfinals at the Wilson ITA Southwest Regional Championship Tulsas Daniela Muscolino is 8-6 this fall and 2-2 against ranked opponents. Muscolino won five-straight matches at the Wilson/ITA Regional Championship, losing in the finals to Nebraskas Gitta Osterman.
