DENVER Hawaiis QiongJie Huang has been named the Western Athletic Conference swimming and diving Athlete of the Week.
Huang, a junior from Wen Zhou, China, claimed diving titles in both the 1M and 3M events at the USC Trojan Diving Invitational. Huang won the 1M event by 5/100 of a point over USCs Blythe Hartley who medaled at the recent Olympics. Huang scored 613.20 points. She also posted first place in the 3M event totaling 519.70 points. In the final event of the weekend, Huang took third place in the platform (9 dives) with a score of 421.70 points.
Other nominees included: Devon Owen, Nevada and Alexis Buckley, Northern Arizona.
