Nevada To Broadcast Games On Sirius Satellite Radio

RENO, Nev. -- In an agreement between 10 major Division I conferences, including the Western Athletic Conference, CSTV and Sirius Satellite Radio, at least two University of Nevada mens basketball games and as many as four could be heard via satellite radio, the school announced today.

Nevadas game this Friday, at approximately 7:05 p.m. against Florida Atlantic in the Dodge Holiday Classic, will be Nevadas first game carried on satellite radio. Nevadas game here Dec. 30 at 7:05 p.m. against San Jose State will also be on broadcast live on Sirius. Two additional games to be determined may be picked up in 2005, according to Steve Macy of the WAC, who entered into the agreement for the conference.

Sirius Satellite Radio is available anywhere in the world on a subscription basis. Music options are commercial free but commercial breaks are still part of sports broadcasts carried via satellite radio. Sirius will pick up Nevadas radio feed being carried by the flagship station, Renos ESPN 630 AM, with voice of the Wolf Pack Dan Gustin calling the action.

Nevada hosts the Dodge Holiday Classic this Friday and Saturday at Lawlor Events Center. Eastern Illinois and Idaho State open the tournament at 5:00 p.m. Friday. Saturdays games will feature Fridays losers in the consolation game at 5:00 p.m. with Fridays winners playing for the championship at approximately 7:05 p.m.

As a reminder, the University of Nevada athletics ticket office at Legacy Hall will be open next week, Monday, Dec. 20th Thursday, Dec. 23rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be closed December 24th for the Christmas holiday. On Monday, Dec. 27th, normal business hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume. Also, the Lawlor Events Center Box Office will be closed the week of December 20th-24th.
