The SMU, Rice and Hawaii women's soccer programs all placed a atleast one student-athlete on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas all-Region teams. WAC Freshman of the Year, Kimber Bailey of SMU, was the lone first-team honoree. A total of six student-athletes were selected.
In the West Region, Hawaii forward Natasha Kai was named to the second-team. Kai, a two-time WAC Player of the Year, led the Wahine to their best record in school history. She was second in the league in points and goals with 12 and 29, respectively.
In the Central Region, SMU placed two, while Rice landed three. Along with Bailey was fellow Mustang Olivia O'Rear. O'Rear was named the WAC Tournament's MVP. O'Rear tallied 15 goals and 10 assists for 40 points, to lead the conference in each category. Although a defender, Bailey tallied 11 goals on the season for the Mustangs.
For Rice, WAC Player of the Year, Lauren Shockley joins fellow Owl Caitlin Currie on the second team. Shockley was among the nation's best in goals-against-average all season. Currie helped anchor a defense that allowed just 12 goals all season. Rice junior, Erin Droeger, was a third-team selection. The first-team all-WAC member plyed a major role in the stingy Owl defense.
