RUSTON, La. Approval has been given for the Louisiana Tech baseball program to begin installation of chair back seating at J.C. Love Field.
There will be 268 seats with chair backs installed and there are just 11 seats remaining to be sold including one seat on the third base dugout.
We have been given the okay from Mr. Oakes so our plan is to have the seats in place by the start of the season, said Tech head coach Wade Simoneaux.
Simoneaux was given a December 1sts deadline to sell phase one of the chair back seats with future plans to install chair backs throughout the stadium The seats will be located in the first four rows of the stadium as well as on each dugout.
We are trying to do this for our fans so that our baseball games can bet a better experience, said Simoneaux.
The chair backs are not the only improvement that Simoneaux hopes to complete prior to the start of the baseball season.
An improved sound system and a picnic area in the front of the stadium are also on tab prior to the season starting as well as a wrought iron fence in front of the facility that will serve as a picnic area.
If we can get these three tings done and put it together between the white lines, we will be okay, Simoneaux said.
There are still seats available for $150 for this year and will carry a $100 renewal fee in future years. Contact Wade Simoneaux at 257-4111 for more information.
