DENVER Nevada first baseman/DH Ben Mummy and Fresno State left-handed pitcher David Griffin have been named the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for February 2-8.

Mummy, a sophomore from Edmonds, Wash. (Meadowdale HS), hit .500 (7-14), scored five runs and drove in seven in three games at the Pacific Invitational in Stockton, Calif. Mummy had multiple hits in all three contests. He had three RBI, a stolen base and a home run on Friday against Saint Marys. In yesterdays win versus Pacific, he drove in four on two doubles and a triple.

It is Mummys first career WAC Player of the Week award.

Griffin gave up one unearned run and walked three while striking out five. The victory snapped Stanfords 14-game road winning streak.
