DENVER Fresno States Lucia Tallo was named the Western Athletic Conferences womens tennis Player of the Week. Tallo is the second-straight Bulldog honored after Jelena Pandzic earned the award last week.

Tallo, a junior from Zurich, Switzerland, went 3-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles this weekend to lead Fresno State to the championship of the UNLV Invitational. Tallo won in straight sets at No. 2 singles against her opponents from Boston College and No. 63 Washington State. In the finals, the junior's 6-3, 1-6, 6-4 win over Jenny Kuhn of No. 27 Tulane with the dual match score tied at 3-3 clinched victory for the 14th-ranked Bulldogs, who have won five in a row. In doubles, Tallo teamed with Jelena Pandzic to win at No. 1 doubles to claim the doubles point, as well. Tallo has now won five dual matches in a row and owns a record of 11-4 (5-1 dual). In doubles, she is 5-1 with Pandzic at No. 1.
