Both Boise State and Hawaii picked up wins last night in the teams' opening action of the NIT.
The Broncos beat UNLV, 84-69, as Bryan Defares scored 12 points and dished out a school-record 13 assists. Jason Ellis also had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Broncos will host Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Saturday night after the Panthers beat Rice last night, 91-63.
Hawaii earned its first ever road win over a ranked opponent beating No. 25 Utah State, 85-74, in Logan. Michael Kuebler scored a game-high 28 points for the 'Bows. Hawaii will host its next game on Monday night and will take on the winner of Friday night's Niagara/Nebraska game.
