DENVER Fresno States Christina Clark and Tulsas Julie Fennell have been named the Western Athletic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively. This is Clarks second honor of the season. Fennell is earning her first career pitcher of the week honor.

Clark, a sophomore from Santa Ana, Calif. (Mater Dei) led Fresno State to four wins last week. The sophomore All-American shortstop became the fifth Bulldog to hit 10 or more home runs in a season after hitting her 10th vs. Long Island and her 11th against No. 13 Pacific. As the WAC's top home run hitter she becomes just the third Bulldog to hit 10 or more long balls in more than one season. At the Kia Klassic, Clark knocked in the game-winning run against the Oklahoma with a one-out RBI single. She then went on to hit her second career grand slam against No. 13 Pacific with a walk-off shot in the fifth. The five RBI collected against the Tigers tied her career-high mark for the second time of the season (also had 5 vs. Campbell on March 8).

Fennell, a freshman from Valliant, Okla., (Valliant), picked up her fifth win and her first collegiate save. In four appearances, she averaged just over 1.5 strikeouts per inning. She allowed only one hit in the four games, a bunt single in the third inning against Eastern Illinois. She struck out 10 batters in a complete game win over Eastern Illinois. She struck out the side in one inning of relief against N.C. State.

Other player of the week nominees included: Stacey Ritter, Hawaii; Stacy Mueller, Nevada and Megan Delgado, San Jose State.

Other pitcher of the week nominees included: Jamie Southern, Fresno State; Tiffany Hoeft, Nevada and Carol Forbes, San Jose State.
