The WAC's two men's basketball head coachng vacancies were filled over the weekend as SMU announced on Friday that Jimmy Tubbs would return as the Mustangs' 15th head coach and UTEP yesterday promoted assistant Doc Sadler as the Miners' 16th head coach.
Tubbs was a 12-year assistant at SMU before spending the last two seasons as an assistant at Oklahoma. Sadler was the head coach at Arkansas-Fort Smith for five years (1998-03) before coming to El Paso last fall.
