DENVER Tulsas Dustin Taylor has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens tennis Player of the Week.
Taylor, a senior from Lake Oswego, Ore., led the 54th-ranked Golden Hurricane to a 7-0 victory over #72 BYU this week. Taylor recorded a 6-4, 6-1 mark over BYUs 58th-ranked Erik Nyman in the No. 1 singles position. Taylor owns a 7-8 overall singles record, including a 4-3 mark during the Spring and a 3-1 record against a ranked opponent. In doubles action, Taylor teams with Tejerina for a 12-7 overall doubles mark, as well as a 9-4 dual record. The duo combined to overcome Christian Hand and Nyman, 9-7, in the No. 1 doubles slot.
