Denver - UTEPs Annie Mallory has been selected as the Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfers of the Week.
Mallory, a senior from Fredericton, New Brunswick, became the first Miner to win a tournament since October, 1999 by taking first place at the Lindsey Lady Collegiate Classic March 29-30 in Bryant, Ark. Mallory shot a 228 (75-75-78), helping UTEP win the tournament title. The Miners finished with a team score of 958 (315-311-332) to edge out second-place Arkansas-Little Rock (321-321-328-970). It was UTEPs first tournament title in over two years.
