DENVER Tulsas Daniela Muscolino was named the Western Athletic Conferences womens tennis Player of the Week. This is her second honor of the spring.
Muscolino, a sophomore from Buenos Aires, Argentina, chalked up a 3-0 singles record and 1-2 doubles mark for the week. In singles action, Muscolino tallied a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Houstons Miranda Foley, a 7-5, 7-6 upset win over Oregons eighth-ranked Daria Panova and 6-1, 6-2, win over San Diego States Dita Hauerlandova. In doubles action, Muscolino teams with Ilona Somers for a No. 47 ITA ranking. The duo dropped an 8-5 decision to Houston, but overcame San Diego States 25th ranked combo for a, 9-8, win.
