The 2004 Mens and Womens NCAA Regionals will be held, May 28-29 at their four respective sites. The Mideast Region will play host to WAC school Louisiana Tech. Rice, SMU, UTEP and Tulsa will all compete in the Midwest region. In the West will be Hawaii, Fresno State, Boise State and Nevada.

A total of 544 student-athletes will compete in the championships. The top five finishers in each event and the top three relay teams qualify for the NCAA Championships, held June 9-12 in Austin, Texas. The multi-events, as well as the 10,000-meter run qualify directly by reaching the automatic and provisional standards. The selection date for qualifiers is June 1.
