DALLAS (SMU) - SMU senior guard Kaira White (Ft. Worth, Texas) has decided to forego her senior season with the SMU women's basketball team, as announced by SMU head coach Rhonda Rompola. The decision was based on chronic knee problems White has endured.
White transferred to SMU from the University of Texas. After sitting out the 2002-03 season due to NCAA transfer rules, White saw action in all 28 games as a junior last season, including 18 starts. She led the Mustangs in scoring (10.1 ppg) and scored a career-high 24 points vs. #6 Louisiana Tech. White led the WAC in free throw percentage (84%) and was second in three-point field goals made per game (1.89).
