DENVER Boise States Forest Braden and SMUs Karin van Rooyen have been named the Western Athletic Conference mens and womens cross country Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Braden, a junior from Bonners Ferry, Idaho, took the title at the Bob Firman Cross Country Invite. Braden posted a time of 25:43.60, giving him the title by over 27 seconds. The Broncos finished third in the 8k event.
van Rooyen, a senior from Ermelo, South Africa., finished fourth overall at the Stanford Invitational. She posted a time of 13:56, finishing behind three runners, all of whom are on the nations top ranked team, Stanford.
