DENVER SMUs Flavia Rigamonti has been named the Western Athletic Conference swimming and diving Athlete of the Week.
Rigamonti, a junior from Breganzona, Switzerland, earned two-first place finishes in a 162.5-129.5 loss to top-ranked Georgia. She gathered two golds taking the 1,000 free in 9:49.80 and the 500 free in 4:48.51. She won the 1,000 free by nearly 10 seconds. Rigamonti holds SMU's season-best times in the 1,650 and 1,000 free. She also swam the 800 short-course meter in 9:28.52 to win gold at the European SC Championships in December.
