DENVER Rice's Urska Ros has been named the Western Athletic Conference swimming and diving Athlete of the Week.
Ros, a senior from Celje, Slovenia, closed out the final home meet of her collegiate career in stellar fashion by winning three individual events against number four ranked Texas on Jan. 13 at the Rice Pool. Ros led the Owls with three of the teams seven wins at the meet. She won both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events and added a victory in the 100-free for good measure. She had a season-best time of 56.05 in the 100-fly.
