    WAC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
    Rice's Urska Ros, a senior from Celje, Slovenia, closed out the final home meet of her collegiate career in stellar fashion by winning three individual events against number four ranked Texas on Jan. 13 at the Rice Pool. Ros led the Owls with three of the teams seven wins at the meet. She won both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events and added a victory in the 100-free for good measure. She had a season-best time of 56.05 in the 100-fly.

    WAC ADDS TWO AFFILIATE MEMBERS
    The Western Athletic Conference announced that invitations for affiliate membership have been issued to and accepted by the University of San Diego and Northern Arizona to join the conference effective the 2004-05 season. Northern Arizona is a member of the Big Sky Conference, but its swimming and diving team competes in the National Independent Conference (NIC). It has done so since the 1998-99 season. The Lumberjacks have finished outside the top three at the NIC Championships only once, finishing second four times. San Diego is a member of the West Coast Conference, but its swimming and diving team competes in the Pacific Collegiate Swimming Conference (PCSC).

    TEAMS IN THE CSCAA TOP 25
    SMU and Hawaii continue to be ranked the CSCAA Poll. SMU is sixth, while the Wahine fall to 20th. Both teams finished the 2003-04 season in the top 25 and finished 1-2, respectivley, at the WAC Championship.

    PALO ALTO TO HOST 2005 WAC CHAMPIONSHIP
    The 2004-05 WAC Championship will be held in San Antonio at the Palo Alto College Natatorium, February 23-26, 2005. The WAC returns to the Alamo City for its fifth-consecutive year. SMU has won the last seven championships, and will be competing in its last year as a WAC member.

    NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATION
    The 2005 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be held, March 13-17 at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind. Purdue will serve as the host institution. NCAA Diving Zones will be held March 10-13 at each regions selected site.

    WAC TO ADD NEW MEMBER IN 2005
    New Mexico State and Idaho will join the Western Athletic Conference, beginning July 1, 2005. Both members and their swiming and diving programs will help continue the success the has had. The Aggies are led by head coach John Fedena, while the Vandals head coach is Tom Jager.
