UTEPs Mickael Hanany, a sophomore from Cergy, France, won the high jump at the Wes Kittley Six-Way in Lubbock, Texas, with a NCAA provisional height of 7-3 (2.21m), in his first meet for UTEP since transferring from SMU. He cleared all of his bars on his first attempt missing at 7-4 1/2 (2.25). The jump is currently the best in the NCAA this season and ranks sixth best in school history.

UTEPs Adriana Pirtea, a senior from Bucharest, Romania, won the mile at the West Kittley Six-Way in Lubbock, Texas in a time of 4:45.24. The time, converted to 4:41.99, is a high NCAA provisional time and leads the nation this season. The unconverted time is the second fastest time in WAC history, behind UTEP's Corine van Beek who broke the mile record last season in 4:44.66. The unconverted time is also the fourth fastest in school history. The converted time breaks both the school and conference record.

    TRACKWIRE RANKINGS
There are currently no teams ranked in Trackwires Top 25, but there are nine individuals in the Dandy Dozen. There is a familiar face on the list, but Mickael Hanany has a change of schools next to his name. Hanany, the 2004 WAC Indoor Freshman of the Year, relocated to UTEP after the loss of the SMU mens track and field program in 2004. Hanany is ranked third in the Dandy Dozens high jump list. There are two new members student-athletes on the Dandy Dozen list, both in the Heptathlon. Sebastian Knabe and Jerome Richardson of Idaho are ranked sixth and eighth, respectively, this week.
