DENVER San Jose State forward Marquin Chandler has been named the Western Athletic Conference mens basketball player of the week for January 24-30.

Chandler, a senior from Oakland, Calif. (George Washington University), averaged 26.5 points and 12.5 rebounds as San Jose State beat Tulsa and Rice. He opened the week with 20 points and 14 rebounds versus Tulsa and then scored a career-high 33 points to go with 11 rebounds in the win over Rice. For the week, he was 22-of-38 (.579) from the field, 3-of-5 from three-point range and hit all six of his free throws.
