No. 11 Hawai`is (13-6, 7-0 WAC) defeated the Boise State Broncos (4-10, 0-7) 30-27, 30-21 and 30-20 in front of a crowd of 753 at Bronco Gym Saturday.
Victoria Prince hit .476 with 13 kills and eight blocks. Sarah Mason added 11 kills while Juliana Sanders hit .389 with nine kills. Susie Boogaard had 10 digs, two aces and four kills with a .500 hitting percentage. Tara Hittle hit .467 with eight kills and four digs while Kanoe Kamana`o put up 46 assists, five blocks and four kills while hitting .600.
New Mexico State concluded their two-match road trip unbeaten as the Aggies dropped the San Jose State Spartans 3-0 Saturday night.s The Aggies improve to 11-4 overall and 4-3 in WAC play as they won their fourth consecutive match, all of which were won in three game sweeps. The Spartans fall to 8-10 overall and 3-3 in WAC play with the loss.s
Tanya Allensand Amber Simpson led the Aggies with 13 kills apiece while Alice Borden added 12 in the NMSU win.s Simpson also set an NMSU record as she hit .750 in the match, beating the record she set earlier this year when she hit .720 against Fresno State on Sept. 29.
Despite losing two-time All-WAC selection Salaia Salave`a in game twos Nevada(12-6, 7-1 WAC) defeated Utah State (13-8, 5-2 WAC) 3-1 in a WAC match on Saturday night at the Virginia Street Gym in Reno, Nev. The Wolf Pack won by scores of 30-22, 24-30, 30-26, and 30-26 to hold onto sole possession of second place in the conference with a 7-1 record while the Aggies fell to 5-2 in league play leaving them third. Winners of 11 of their last 12 matches the Pack are 12-6 on the season and USU dropped to 13-8.
Louisiana Tech won its second WAC match of the season with a 3-2 win at the Fresno State on Saturday. The Lady Techsters knocked off the Bulldogs earlier in the season for their first conference win and gutted it out today to up their record to 15-8 overall and 2-5 in the WAC. Fresno State fell to 3-14 overall and 1-6 in the WAC.
