Nevada Ranked 25th in Preseason USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll

The Nevada men's basketball team will begin the season ranked 25th in the USA Today/ESPN coaches poll. Earlier this month, the Wolf Pack were picked to win the conference in both the WAC's preseason media and coaches polls.

Nevada junior forward Nick Fazekas was named the Preseason WAC Player of the Year after being named the WAC Player of the Year following his sophomore campaign. Fazekas led the WAC in scoring last year with 20.7 points per game while pulling down 9.4 rebounds per contest.

It's the first time a WAC team has been ranked in the preseason by one of the two major polls since Tulsa opened the 2002-03 season at number 25 in the AP poll.

WAC newcomer Utah State also received votes in the preseason poll to be ranked tied for 44th.

Both Utah State and Nevada were participants in last year's NCAA tournament.

Nevada opens its season on November 19 when it hosts Sacramento State while the Aggies begin their season the same night at Oral Roberts.
