XBOX LIVE GOLFER OF THE MONTH ?“ Boise State?™s Graham DeLaet has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month.
DeLaet, a senior from Weyburn, SK, Canada, captured the individual title at the Falcon Invitational by six strokes and set a tournament record with a 54-hole total of 206 (-10). DeLaet led the Broncos at the Purple and Red Invitational, firing a three-round score of 212 (-4). His final round 5-under 67 was the second-lowest score of the day and propelled him into a tie for fifth place. DeLaet now has 20 career top 10 finishes, a school record. For DeLaet, his 22nd place finish at the Wolf Pack Invitational adds to his school record of top 25 finishes in a career, which now stands at 22.
Seven of DeLaet?™s nine rounds in September were even-par or better, including four rounds in the 60s. His 54-hole total at each tournament has been even-par or better, shooting 10-under, 4-under and even-par in three tournaments. Through three events this fall, DeLaet owns a 70.4 stroke average.
Other men?™s nominees included: Jon Rosa, Fresno State; Danny Bowen, New Mexico State and Brendon Ehlers, Utah State.

DELAET TAKES FALCON INVITATIONAL ?“ Boise State senior Graham DeLaet won the Air Force Academy Gene Miranda Invitational, Sept. 11, with a sizzling ten-under three-round score of 206. The Bronco men?™s team tied for third with Long Beach State with 875, seven strokes behind the winning team, Air Force (868).
WOLF PACK WIN CLASSIC ?“ Second-year head coach Rich Merritt led Nevada to its first tournament title under his tenure, winning the Wolf Pack Classic hosted at ArrowCreek Country Club. It is the first time Nevada has won its home tournament since 2002, when it carded a team total of 851 (-13) at Genoa Lake Golf Course under former coach Tom Duncan.
WAC ENTERS NEW ERA ?“ The WAC is a nine-team league with the additions of Idaho, New Mexico State and Utah State following the departures of Rice, SMU, UTEP and Tulsa. It is the third time in conference history that the WAC will be comprised of nine teams (1980-91 and 2000). Idaho, New Mexico State and Utah State all sponsor men?™s golf.
