Men's Golf Finishes a Strong Fall Season
GOFF NAMED GOLFWEEK GOLFER OF THE WEEK ?“ New Mexico State senior Robert Goff was named Men?™s Golf of the Week by GolfWeek.com. Goff recently won the University of Hawaii Fall Intercollegiate. After posting rounds of 71-73-70 for a 2-under 214 total at the University of Hawai'i Fall Intercollegiate, Goff (Clovis, N.M.) shared the 54-hole lead with three other players. The Aggie senior then outlasted San Diego State?™s Andrew Scott, Baylor?™s Ryan Baca and UNLV?™s Seung-su Han in a four-hole playoff and helped the Aggies to a 1-shot tournament victory over UNLV.

XBOX LIVE GOLFER OF THE MONTH ?“ New Mexico State?™s Robert Goff has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month for November.

Goff, a senior from Clovis, N.M., was named GolfWeek.com?™s National Men?™s Golfer of the Week after leading the Aggies to their first tournament victory since the 2004 Sun Belt Conference Championship, as NMSU took home the team title at the Hawai'i Fall Intercollegiate with a 7-under-par 871. Goff, who took home the individual medal for his first tournament win as an Aggie, shot a 2-under-par 214 to finish in a tie with three other duffers. Goff then outlasted San Diego State?™s Andrew Scott, Baylor?™s Ryan Baca and UNLV?™s Seung-su Han in a four-hole playoff and helped the Aggies to a one-shot tournament victory over UNLV.

Other men?™s nominees included: Dustin Hall, Nevada.

DELAET NAMED MID-SEASON ALL-AMERICAN ?“ After a fall season that brought tournament victories, national recognition and a list of Bronco records, Boise State senior Graham DeLaet has added another accolade to his already stellar resume. DeLaet was one of 12 golfers named to the Golf World Mid-Season All-American team, Nov. 23. DeLaet was also named the "Best Player You Have Never Heard Of."

WAC ENTERS NEW ERA ?“ The WAC is a nine-team league with the additions of Idaho, New Mexico State and Utah State following the departures of Rice, SMU, UTEP and Tulsa. It is the third time in conference history that the WAC will be comprised of nine teams (1980-91 and 2000). Idaho, New Mexico State and Utah State all sponsor men?™s golf.

WAC CHAMPIONSHIP ?“ The 2006 Wells Fargo WAC Championship travels to Boise, Idaho and Crane Creek Country Club. This year?™s Championship will be held May 1-3, 2006. A tight, challenging par 71, 6,255 yard (from the blue tees), this 18-hole golf facility is the centerpiece of Crane Creek Country Club, designed by the noted golf course architectural firm, Bob Baldock & Sons.
