Sophomore Jaycee Carroll scored a career-high 30 points in Utah State?™s 69-60 win at Weber State on Saturday night. Carroll made 10-of-16 shots from the field, including five three-pointers. In the second half, he scored 18 of the Aggies?™ 35 points.
In other action, San Jose State?™s Menelik Barbary came off the bench to score 12 points, grab 10 rebounds and block four shots in the Spartans?™ 69-56 win at Long Beach State. Alex Elam scored a game-high 17 points for the Spartans. San Jose State has now won two games on the road for the first time since the 2002-03 season. All four of the Spartans?™ wins this season have been by double digits.
New Mexico State won the consolation game at the USF Invitational by beating Chicago State, 78-63. In his first action of the season, Mike Mitchell led the Aggies with 19 points. Four other New Mexico State players scored in double figures including Tyrone Nelson (14), Ted Knauber (11), Shaun Davis (10) and Kevin Ford (10).
