Hawai`i defeated Campbell for the second time in as many days with a 80-64 decision Saturday afternoon at the Stan Sheriff Center. The Rainbow Wahine used an overpowering first half performance to vault to 7-2 on the season and extend its win streak to five games.
Eleven different players got into the scoring column for the Rainbow Wahine who recorded a season-high 80 points. Brittany Grice led UH in scoring for the third straight game with 16 points and added nine rebounds. Janevia Taylor chipped in 13 points, while sophomore reserve Saundra Cariaga scored a career-high 10 points. UH dominated from the opening tip, scoring a mere five seconds in and reeling off the game's first eight points. Already enjoying a double-digit lead, 18-8, the Rainbow Wahine put together a 20-1 run to turn a comfortable lead into a blowout. Hawaii led by as many as 31 points in the first half and held a 45-16 lead at the break. UH shot 52 percent in the half, while holding the Lady Camels to just 28 percent shooting.
For the second straight game, UH dominated on the inside with a 46-27 edge on the boards, and a day after missing 20 of 25 3-point attempts, improved on the perimeter, hitting 5-of-12 from long range. Campbell, meanwhile struggled immensely from the foul line. The squad made 19 trips to the line but converted a measly five free throws. Marlena Murphy went just 3-of-11 from the line, although she led three Lady Camels in double figures with 18 points.
The Rainbow Wahine rolled to victory despite being without leading scorer Amy Sanders, who sat out to due to illness. Sanders was limited to 13 minutes in Friday's meeting and missed her first career game for UH on Saturday after a string of 92 contests played.

Amy Parrish scored 22 points to lead four Bulldogs in double-figures and Fresno State shot a season-high 51.9-percent in a 81-70 victory over Arizona on Saturday afternoon at the Save Mart Center. Chantella Perera was 4-6 from three-point territory and added 19 points for Fresno State (6-3), which has now won four of its last five overall.
Freshman guard Brandi Fitzgerald showed her versatility in leading the Pack in scoring, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as Nevada upended Sacramento State, 63-52, here at Lawlor Events Center Saturday night.
Junior guard Cecilia Russell-Nava (Santa Cruz, Calif.) hit a three-pointer with 9.2 seconds left to give the New Mexico State women?™s basketball team (2-6) a thrilling 65-63 comeback win over host Cal Poly on Saturday afternoon.
