Hawai'i Opens WAC Season with Win over Utah State

Hawai'i jumped out to an early lead in the WAC standings by beating Utah State, 69-59, on Saturday in the first conference game of the season. Matt Lojeski scored a game-high 20 points while Julian Sensley added 19 points for the Rainbow Warriors.

Other Saturday Highlights
Louisiana Tech remained unbeaten at home after an 80-67 win over McNeese State. Paul Millsap scored 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for his seventh straight double-double and 50th of his career. He has 858 career rebounds, one shy of Karl Malone?™s sixth best total in school history.

Boise State defeated Utah Valley State, 79-62, behind Eric Lane?™s 18 points. Lane was 5-of-9 from three-point range in helping the Broncos improve to 5-3. Coby Karl added 17 points for Boise State.

David Dubois scored a career-high 21 points in Idaho?™s 77-58 win over Eastern Oregon. His teammate, Tanoris Shepard, added 14 points and eight assists.

Louisiana Tech junior forward Paul Millsap leads the WAC in both scoring (20.4 points per game) and rebounding (12.4 boards per contest). Fresno State sophomore guard Kevin Bell leads the conference in assists with 6.4 per game.
