DENVER ?“ Louisiana Tech?™s Ty Moore has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Women?™s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 26. This is the first Player of the Week honor of the season for the junior and the Lady Techsters second of the season.
Moore, a junior from Shreveport, La., averaged 12.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game, while leading Louisiana Tech to a 2-0 mark last week. Moore spearheaded the Lady Techsters upset win over 24th ranked Ole Miss, scoring 18 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking a career-high four shots in the victory. For the week, Moore shot 69 percent (9-13) from the field and 86 percent (6-7) from the free throw line.
Other nominees included: Nadia Begay of Boise State scored 21 points in a road loss to San Diego State.
