DENVER ?“ Hawai'i?™s Ryan Sceats has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Tennis Player of the Month for the month of November.
Sceats, a senior from Perth, Western Australia, Australia finished 5-2 in singles play during the month of November. He qualified for the Main Draw of the USTA?™s Honolulu Futures pro circuit tournament in Honolulu. The senior won all three qualifying round matches to advance to the Round of 32. He lost his first round match to Tyler Cleveland. Sceats also defeated San Diego State?™s Robert Sabo, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, in the team?™s dual match. He and partner Jarrod Diepraam also participated in the Honolulu Futures doubles Main Draw. He completed the fall season with a team-best 8-3 singles mark.
Other men?™s tennis nominees: Boise State?™s Luke Shields made it to the second round of the ITA National Indoor Championships in November and the semifinals of the doubles championship at the indoors with teammate Thomas Schoeck.
