Nevada improved to 6-16 (2-10 WAC) avenging an earlier 70-51 loss from January 15 in Boise. For the second consecutive game, San Jose State forward Lamisha Augustine hit the game winning shot with two seconds remaining in the overtime period to give the Spartans a 63-62 overtime win over SMU Thursday night in a Western Athletic Conference game. With the win, the Spartans extend their winning streak to six games and keeps sole possession of second place in the WAC standings.Amy Parrish scored a game-high 22 points for the third game in row, leading Fresno State to a 65-47 victory over UTEP on Thursday night at the Save Mart Center. For Fresno State (14-7, 6-6 WAC), the victory was the team's first home win in WAC play and first under interim head coach Adrian Wiggins, who was making his debut after it was announced Wednesday that head coach Stacy Johnson-Klein was placed on paid administrative leave.
