DENVER Nevada forward Jermaine Washington and UTEP forward Omar Thomas each received suspensions for an incident that occured during the Nevada-UTEP game in El Paso on Saturday. The Wolf Pack won the game, 62-60.
Washington was whistled for a flagrant foul and then ejected from the game for fighting with 8:25 remaining in the first half. As per NCAA rules, Washington automatically is suspended one game. He will sit out the Wolf Packs home game against Rice on Wednesday night.
Also, WAC Commissioner Karl Benson announced that Thomas will sit out the first half of UTEPs road game at San Jose State on Wednesday due to his involvement in the incident.
