SMU and Hawaii both finished in the top 20 at the 2005 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in West Lafayette, Ind. SMU finished strong behind another National Championship in the
1,650 freestyle for Flavia Rigamonti. After missing last season, Rigamonti captured her third title in as many tries in the event with a time of 15:46.84. She also finished fifth in the 500 free in 4:40.61. Hawaii grabbed 16th behind
QiongJie Huang who grabbed gold and finished in fourth two of her three diving events. Huang was crowned the National Champion in the 1 meter with a mark of 327.00. She finished fourth in the 3 meter with a point total of 551.85. Fellow Wahine Rui Wang grabbed bronze in the platform diving with a total of 466.15.
