He had a shot put throw of 16.47 meters before posting a discus mark of 51.73m The discus throw was good enough to reach the NCAA regional qualifying standard while the shot put mark came up just short.

Louisiana Techs Latonia Wilson, a sophomore from Amite, La., clocked a regional-qualifying time of 11.74 in the 100 meters to take first place at the Louisiana Classics hosted by Louisiana-Lafayette in the outdoor opener for Tech.
