Tulsas Thomas Stoltz, a freshman from Phoenixville, Pa., turned in an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the javelin with a throw of 64.42m (211-4) at the Tulsa Duals. The throw was the second-best outdoor mark in school history, and the best throw in 44 years for the Hurricane since George Wallaces 64.92m (213) mark in 1961. Stoltzs mark is among the top 10 throws in the country this season.

Robinsons throw was an improvement of four and a half feet on Regina Cavanaughs mark of 52.06m (172-7) set on May 17, 1986. Robinsons throw also improved on Robinsons career best by a staggering 13 feet. She won the event almost 25 feet ahead of second places Jamie Rios from Texas A&M. In addition to her success in the discus, Robinson also had a career best in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.41m (142-05) to finish third. On the first day of the meet, she improved on her personal best in the shot put with a heave of 12.70m (41-8) to take fifth.
