WAC Highlights from Thursday's GamesNevada won the WACs outright regular season championship with a
55-47 win at Hawaii. Nick Fazekas scored 20 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the game. It was the ninth straight win for Nevada and ninth in a row on the road. The Wolf Pack will be the top seed in next weeks WAC tournament to be played in Reno.
Jason McKrieth scored a team-high 24 points in
Rices 78-64 win at Louisiana Tech. The Owls have won four games in a row and will be the three seed in next weeks WAC tournament.
SMUs Bryan Hopkins scored 26 points to help lead the Mustangs to an
81-74 overtime win against Tulsa. Patrick Simpson added 22 points as SMU rallied to overcome a 12-point deficit with under seven minutes to play.
Fresno State won at San Jose State, 74-55. The Bulldogs Dreike Bouldin scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the contest.
The 2005 WAC Tournament will be held next week, March 8-12, in Reno, Nevada. Nevada is the top seed, UTEP is number two, Rice is three and San Jose State is 10. The rest of the seeds will be determined after Saturdays games.
The 2005 all-WAC teams, as voted upon by the leagues 10 head coaches, will be announced on Sunday afternoon.
