Berrians performances spearheaded the mens success, as he locked up titles in the 100-meters (10.73) and 200-meters (20.90). Berrian also ran the third leg of the first-place 4x100-meter relay squad (Kenny Moon, Jesse Smith, Rico Morales), which clocked in at 40.41 to qualify for NCAA Regionals.Hawaiis Novelle Murray, a junior from Surrey, British Columbia, broke a 22-year school record with a throw of 54.24m in the discus at the Triton Invitational. Her mark was also the best among WAC athletes this season and the eighth time she eclipsed the NCAA Regional standard. Murray also broke the school record in the hammer throw with an NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 54.04m at the Triton Invitational. That mark eclipsed her previous high by 1.65m and ranks fifth in the WAC. She has qualified for the NCAA Regionals in both events. The Broncos post three athletes in the Dandy Dozen with Mattias Jons in the hammer and Gabriel Wallin and Scott Viafore in the javelin. Jons ranks second, while Wallin is first in the country and Viafore is 10th. The UTEP men place four in the top 12. Patrick Mutai is eighth in the steeplechase, while fellow Miner Mircea Bogdan is 12th. Japeth Ngojoy is 12th in the 10,000 meters. Mickael Hanany is ranked fifth in the high jump and 11th in the long jump. For the SMU women, Gaelle Niare is second in the country in the high jump. Karin van Rooyen is seventh in the 10,000 meters. Louisiana Tech places the 4x400 meter relay team 10th and the 4x100 squad ninth. Techster Brenda-Grace Hunt is second in the country in the javelin. Also in the javelin is UTEPs Erma-Gene Evans who comes in fourth and Boise States Neely Falgout who is ninth. 2005 WAC CHAMPIONSHIPThe 2005 Western Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship will be held at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, May 11-14. Tulsa will hosts the conferences final championship of the year. Rice swept the team competition in 2004 on their own track.NCAA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATIONThe 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Regional Championships will be held, May 27-28 at four sites throughout the country. The East Regionals will be held at Randalls Island facility in Riverdale, N.Y., hosted by Manhattan College. The Mideast Regionals are slated for Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex in Bloomington, Ind. (Host, Indiana). The West Regionals are being held in Eugene, Ore., hosted by Oregon. The Ducks will host the event at Hayward Field. The Midwest Regionals will be held on the campus of Oklahoma in Norman, Okla., and John Jacobs Field.NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP INFORMATIONThe 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held, June 8-11 at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex in Sacramento, Calif. Sacramento State and the Sacramento Sports Commission are the hosts for this years event. Utah State and Idaho each school will sponsor a mens and womens teams, while New Mexico State will bring only a womens program.
