UTEPs Mircea Bogdan and Boise State Neely Falgout earn WAC Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Bogdan, a junior from Craiova, Romania, posted the NCAAs best time this season in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Cardinal Invitational in Stanford, Calif. Bogdan won the section A final of the competition with a time of 8:32.68, two seconds faster than second-place finishing Jacques Sallberg (8:34.91) who was running for Adidas. The time for Bogdan is his best-ever performance and the fifth best in school history. Bogdan overtakes Cal Polys Ben Bruce, who ran 8:33.70 on March 5, for the national lead. UTEP now has two of the nations top steeplechase times with freshman Patrick Mutai ranking 13th (8:49.45).

Falgout, a senior from Delcambre, La., won the javelin at the Cardinal Invitational with a throw of 174-9 (53.27m). Her winning mark is the sixth best collegiate throw this season and the second best mark in the west region. It is also the second best throw in Boise State history. Trina Rogers is the school record holder at 175-10 set in 2003.
