SMU and Tulsa both advanced to the Men's Golf NCAA Championships, finishing eighth and fourth, respectively. The 2005 NCAA Championships will travel east to the Caves Valley Golf Course in Baltimore, Md. Caves Valley and Loyla College (Md.) will host the event June 1-4. Last year, SMU was the lone team to qualify, while UTEPs Chris Baryla earned an individual nod.

Tulsa entered the final round in eighth place at the NCAA Central Regional, but was able to move up four spots in the standings. The Hurricane carded its best round of the tournament with a five-over par 285 score to finish in a fourth-place tie and thus advancing to the NCAA Championships for the eighth time in school history.
SMU team earned a spot in the 2005 NCAA Mens Golf Championship after placing eighth at the NCAA Central Regional held at the par-70, 7,011-yard Warren Golf Course. This marks the third consecutive year - and fourth of the last five - in which SMU will play for the national championship. The Mustangs shot a final round of six-over-par 286 for a 54-hole total of 873 (+33).
Exclusive coverage of the NCAA Division I Golf Championships will be televised on The Golf Channel beginning May 18, including tournament action from both the men's and women's championship finals.
Tournament coverage began with the women's championships, bringing viewers the final three rounds from Sunriver Resort in Sunriver, Ore., May 18-20. The men will tee off on The Golf Channel, June 2-4, from the Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Md., near Baltimore. The final three rounds of the tournament will air each day from 3 5 p.m. ET. Hosting the men's coverage will be Brian Anderson and Curt Byrum, with Burkowski reporting from the course and handling interviews.
