Haygood inked a deal with the Sports on Wednesday afternoon and went 0 for 5 in his debut.
The deal does allow Haygood an out clause if the Bossier City native is selected in First Year Player Draft, which takes place on Tuesday.
Haygood ended his Tech career with a .285 average while scoring 125 runs and producing 15 home runs and 76 RBIs while tying the single season doubles record with 20 as a senior.
