DENVER ?“ Nevada forward Miranda Montejo and defender Randee Robinson have been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference women?™s soccer offensive and defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
Montejo, a freshman from Riverside, Calif., scored a pair of goals last week, helping Nevada to a 2-0 record. Montejo registered her four points on just two shots. The Wolf Pack knocked off New Mexico, 2-0, and Washington State, 3-0.
Robinson, a freshman from Port Orchard, Wash., not only anchored a defense that posted back-to-back shutouts, but registered two goals in the process. The defender posted both of her goals in the, 3-0, win over the Cougars.
Other offensive nominees included: Nicole Coleman, Boise State; Natasha Kai, Hawai'i and Dana Peart, Utah State.
Other defensive nominees included: Kim Parker, Boise State and Shawn Higa, Hawai'i.
