DENVER ?“ Utah State?™s DJ Smith and Kathryn Duhadway have been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference men?™s and women?™s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.
Smith, a junior from Pleasanton, Calif., won the 60-meter dash at the Snake River Open in Pocatello, Idaho. Smith posted a personal-best time of 6.72. He was the lone Aggie to claim gold at the season opener. His time is tops in the WAC over the past two seasons.
Duhadway, a sophomore from Logan, Utah, tied for second in the pole vault at the Snake River Open, clearing 12-4 (3.76m). Her height is tied for the second-best mark in indoor history at Utah State. Her mark also would have placed third in the WAC a year ago.
