Tickets for WAC Gymnastics Championship Available

DENVER -- Tickets for the 2006 Western Athletic Conference Gymnastics Championship will go on sale to the public on Jan. 27. The championship will be held Saturday, March 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum on the campus of Utah State University. This is the first championship that the Aggies have hosted since joining the WAC in July of 2005. This is also the first WAC Gymnastics Championship since 1993.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens (60 years and up) and students. sYouth tickets (ages 12 and under) will be $3. All seats are general admission. Parking is free. Tickets may be purchased by calling 435-797-0305 or 1-888-878-2831 or on-line at www.utahstateaggies.com. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Spectrum Ticket Office. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.?“5:00 p.m. The day of the event the Spectrum Ticket Office will be open at noon.

There are six teams competing in the WAC Championship, including host Utah State, Boise State, San Jose State and affiliates, Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State and Southern Utah. The rotation for the 2006 championship will be: vault, bye, uneven parallel bars, balance beam, bye and floor exercise.

So far this season five of the six WAC schools are ranked in the top 40, led by Utah State which is No. 31. Sacramento State is No. 34, followed by Boise State and San Jose State which are No. 37 and No. 38 respectively. Cal State-Fullerton stands at No. 40 after four weeks of competition.
