DENVER ?“ San Jose State?™s Michelle Minotti has been named the Xbox Live Western Athletic Conference Gymnast of the Week for the week of Jan. 30. This is the Spartans?™ first WAC Gymnast of the Week honor.
Minotti, a sophomore from Rohnert, Calif., won the all-around with a score of 38.875 against WAC foe Cal State Fullerton. Minotti tied for first on the bars with a career-best 9.800. She was also first on floor with a season-high 9.775. Minotti tied for third on vault with a 9.675 and scored a season-high 9.625 on beam. She helped lead the Spartans to a 193.125-191.875 win over the Titans. San Jose State?™s score of 193.125 was one of the top 35 in school history.
Other nominees included: Jessica Parenti of Utah State scored a 38.975 in the all-around as the Aggies finished third behind No. 2 Utah and Southern Utah.
