DENVER – Idaho’s Crystal Streight has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week.
Streight, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev. (Durango HS), won all four individual events she competed in last weekend. On Friday against Cal State Northridge, she won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:38.65 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:26.60. The next day, she won the 200 IM (2:11.89) and the 200 breaststroke (2:26.22) in a dual meet versus San Jose State. Her times in all three events are the best by any WAC swimmer this season. The Vandals won both meets to improve to 4-1 on the year.
Others nominated: freshman Kristina Levesque, San Diego; and freshman Hannah Tringham, San Jose State.
