DENVER ? New Mexico State’s Lehua Wise has been named the Western Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month for October.
Wise, a senior from Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii (Kauai HS), finished in the top 15 in all three tournaments that the Aggies played in last month. She opened the month with a 12th place finish in the Heather Farr Memorial Invitational in Colorado after shooting a three-round total of 12-over par (75-72-81, 228). Wise returned to New Mexico State where she won the individual title of the Price’s Give ?em Five Intercollegiate with a 2-under par 214 (72-72-70). Her total helped the Aggies to a team win in the tournament as well. Wise concluded the fall season at the Kent Youel Invitational in Honolulu tying for seventh place with a 10-over par 226 (72-79-75). Wise averaged 74.2 strokes over the nine rounds of play.
