DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference and Commissioner Karl Benson announced today that Nevada would host the 2007 WAC Baseball Tournament and Fresno State would host the 2007 WAC Softball Tournament. The decision was made based on a vote during the WAC's Fall Council meetings being held in Denver.
The softball tournament will be played May 10-12 at Fresno State's Bulldog Diamond. The baseball tournament is May 24-27 at Nevada's Peccole Park. The field for both tournaments will include the top six teams as determined by the regular season.
Also announced was the site of the 2008 WAC Softball Tournament. Hawai?i will host the tournament at its Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. The site for the 2008 baseball tournament will be decided next spring.
Fresno State hosted both the softball and baseball tournaments last season.
