Kamana`o Becomes WAC Total Assist Leader

In a nationally televised match (CSTV) at the Virginia Street Gym in Reno, Nev., Hawai`i senior Kanoe Kamana`o set the WAC record for total assists. In the first game, Kamana`o broke the WAC career assists record, finishing with 35 assists, to raise her total to 5,904. She also added five blocks and five digs on the night.

Kamana`o broke Colorado State's Analisa Saylor's long-standing WAC record for total assists. Saylor, who played from 1994-97, ended her stellar WAC career with 5,873 assists. Kamana`o started the season sixth in the WAC in assists with 4,897.

This season, Kamana`o is first in the WAC in assists, averaging 13.72 assists per game. She has a total of 1,043 assists this season. As of the last NCAA statistics, Kamana`o was sixth in the nation in assiste per game.
