DENVER ? Western Athletic Conference Commissioner Karl Benson today announced the hiring of Elizabeth Kampfe as the Director of Championships.
Kampfe comes to the WAC staff after serving as the Assistant Event Manager at the University of Kentucky athletics department. She oversaw game operations at home events for several sports including women’s basketball, soccer and baseball. Prior to that, Kampfe worked at the University of Illinois and provided event management for several NCAA and Big Ten championships.
Kampfe earned her Bachelor of Arts in sports mangement and communications at the University of Michigan where she was a four-time all-Big Ten cross country runner and an academic All-American. She added a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois.
She will join the WAC on January 22.
