DENVER ?“ Fresno State outfielder Steve Susdorf and Hawai'i left-handed pitcher Mark Rodrigues have been named the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for February 6-12.

Susdorf, a sophomore from Newhall, Calif. (Hart HS), hit .714 (5-7) last week with two home runs and five RBI as the Bulldogs won two of three games against 11th-ranked Pepperdine. In the two wins, Susdorf was 5-of-6 with all five RBI. He was walked twice, hit by a pitch, scored four runs, had a slugging percentage of 1.571 and stole a base during the series. It is Susdorf?™s first career WAC Player of the Week award.

Rodrigues, a senior from Koloa, Kauai (Kauai HS), started and pitched seven innings in Hawai'i?™s 3-1 win over UC Irvine on Sunday. He allowed no runs, no walks and just two hits while striking out two in giving the Rainbows a series win. At one point, he retired 12 consecutive batters during the game. It is Rodrigues?™ first career WAC Pitcher of the Week award.

The other player of the week nominations were Hawai'i senior outfielder Matt Inouye, Louisiana Tech senior second baseman Amos Ramon, Nevada junior shortstop Leo Radkowski, and New Mexico State sophomore first baseman Luke Hopkins.

The other pitcher of the week nominations were Fresno State junior Andy Underwood, Louisiana Tech senior Amos Ramon, Nevada freshman Steve Masten, New Mexico State junior Brian Gausman, and Sacramento State junior Mick Joyce.
